Lamination
Upon arrival at the Lamination unit, the logs are taken to stock and separated by assortment. Then, they pass through the lathe, where they effectively become blades that will be used in the production process of the plywood sheet.
Drier
The blades go through a dryer, so that they reach the ideal humidity, thus proceeding to the next step.
Assembly/Gluing
The sheets receive the application of phenolic resin (glue) and are superimposed, with the fibers of each layer in opposite directions, always in an odd number, forming a kind of “sandwich”.
Pre-Press/Press
Cold pressing process right after assembly, compacting the “sandwich” of sheets, preparing them for the hot pressing process.
The “sandwich” formed by the blades is placed in the press, where it is subjected to pressure and heat, as the phenolic resin (glue) reacts only at high temperature.
It is in this process that the gluing takes place, transforming the sandwich of blades into a plywood sheet.
Kneading
It is the use of synthetic repair putty to correct knots or cracks according to the product chosen by the customer.
Calibration
This finishing process may vary according to each product and each customer’s specifications.
In this process, the sheet receives surface finishing and thickness correction.
Surface Correction
Pancake
Process carried out exclusively in Plasticized Plywood, where the application of the phenolic film is carried out on the surface of the sheets, using the hot pressing process.
Squaring
In this sector, the sheets will pass through the saw and will be cut to standard measurements, according to the product specification.
Finishing
In this sector, the classification takes place piece by piece, so that possible manufacturing defects are excluded.
According to the specification of each product, the sheets can be edge-sealed with paint or have a natural finish.
The next process is baling, made with specific straps and shims.
After baling, the product will go to stock, where it will later be sent to the final customer.
